Coding and Social Sciences
The foundation of all digital games is the underlying code that powers them. There are many programming (coding) languages used to develop games and software. Scratch is a graphical based programming (coding) language developed by members of the MIT Media Lab. It was developed to teach the basics of coding and encourage learners to be creative, collaborative, critical thinkers. Coding is no longer something that is isolated to the Computer Science class, nor is it only for teenagers and adults. Now coding is accessible to ages 5-7 with the introduction of ScratchJR. This TED Talk, delivered by one of the creators, will give you an interesting view of the possibilities with Scratch.
